And I third that. I've been to every day of every qep'a' and in
addition to the thrill of the event, I've enjoyed the obvious
growth of the movement. For those who weren't there, the first
year involved about a dozen people, only half of whom were able
to attend for the full event. The second year, there were, I
believe, 18 for the full event. Last year, there were well over
30 for the whole week.
It hasn't hurt a bit that there have been more and more proud
Klingon women attending. jachbej 'IwwIj! r'Hul's performance of
"Weapons Are A Girl's Best Friend" comes to mind, as well as the
image of Qov throwing heavy things at DaQtIq while he recited
poetry! Or the beginning of romance between Krankor and trI'qal.
Of course, every time I approached one of them, they suddenly
needed to wash their hair. So, I can speak highly of the hygene
of Klingon women!
The wit and wonder of these people is amazing. Everywhere, there
is positive reinforcement for any level of achievement with the
language. I can say this even as I see my own achievements
eclipsed by the amazing talents of those who have worked with it
for a far shorter time.
