Maybe {vut} doesn't literally mean "cook", but is more like "prepare food".
When one prepares a tossed salad, does "cook" apply? Does {vut}?

Both of those would likely be described as "boiled", not "boiling."
I'd describe a "boiled worm" as {pubpu'bogh ghargh}.
Since the word is {pubtaHbogh}, I think the drink is *served* boiling.
