Which is true. And if I saw "valwI'" in in a sentence, I think it's safe
to say that the image it would conjure up would be pretty close to
nothing at all like the one called up by English "witch". It's all well
and good to look at all sorts of derivations and whatnot, but try to
remember what the reader who ISN'T you is going to think. "Witch" may have
originally meant "wise one," but it doesn't mean that anymore in English,
at least not in most contexts.
