{tIntaH} just means "it's continuously big."  The -choH makes sense here:
its bigness is changing in quality, presumably becoming more so.  {tInchoH}
is pretty clear for "it gets big, it becomes large," and that process may
be expressed as an imperfective.  {tInchoHtaH} is quite good for "it
is/was/will be swelling."  Now, I'm not sure we need the imperfective
either, but if we do, this word makes sense.
