I pick the third option, which actually *does* answer your question: the
way I see it, {latlh} doesn't work to modify a noun except in a noun-noun
"possessive" construct. {latlh jaj} means "something/someone else's day"
and {jaj latlh} means "a day's someone/something else" to me.
I would say {jaj pIm} or {jaj chu'} or {jaj cha'DIch}, based on the exact
nuance of meaning I wanted to convey.

Sure there is. "Cigar". We haven't seen Klingons smoking (they quite
likely prefer raw meat to burnt plant leaves), so there probably isn't
a native Klingon word for smoking materials. What's the Klingon word
for "taco" or "rutabaga"? What's the *English* word for "taco"? :-)
