And what if the English translations are wrong?
Speaking as someone who used to earn his living translating from Russian
and Hebrew, any decent translator will always work from the original if
s/he has a choice. Even if not fluent, a translator will still want to see
the original, if possible.
Besides, you don't have to read *every* post on this listserv. I certainly
don't. Between work and home I subscribe to nearly two dozen mailing lists
averaging over 200 posts per day so I must be selective in what I read and
respond to. If you can't follow the discussion, and are unwilling to learn
something new, then delete it and move onto the next thread. There's enough
here for everyone.
