You may be right. One canonical example of this is in ST VI. The warrior
at the Morska listening post asks the Enterprise: "Dujvetlh 'oH nuq?."
Now, the subject of the reply sentence (which *nuq* is holding the place
of) would be *DIvI' 'ejDo'* or * 'ejDo' 'enterpray' *. In either case,
*nuq* is representing the entire subject, not just one word in the subject.
