Well, *I* had never heard of it, so I went looking. Sure enough:

"The Republic of Palau is the westernmost jurisdiction in Micronesia,
less than 500 miles from the Philippines. It consists of several hundred
volcanic islands and a few coral atolls but only eight islands are
inhabited, with a population of 15,122 people (1990). The land area is 177
square miles. Palau, the last of the Trust Territories, is in the process of
implementing a compact of free association with the United States. Palau's
main economic strengths are in its marine resources, agriculture, and
tourism potential; none of these has been fully developed and the U.S.
provides most of Palau's finances."

So... how soon until one of those 15,122 people joins the KLI?
