First of all, here is my corrected toast:
qamDu'lIjDaq bIHeghjaj
May you die on your feet.
My reason for choosing this particular wording is that I have seen
several references in the various shows and books to the importance of
"dying on your feet," as opposed to in your bed as an old man/woman.
As for the question of traditional toasts, this would seem to me to be
something that would be expressed by warriors when celebrating their
victories.
Of course, I have been known to be wrong {{:)
