***** OFF TOPIC - APOLOGIES IN ADVANCE *****
If you aren't Jay Grizzard, you don't need to read this unless you're just
curious. This is off-topic because I was unable to determine a private email
address for the poster. More on that later.

IMHO:
The 4-line sig rule came into existence at a time when the average
person's connection was about 1200 baud. Now speeds are more like 28800.
The increase in speed should, imho, allow slightly larger sigs. If we used a
direct proportion, you could use a 96-line sig now. Of course, since *nobody*
really has that much information about themselves to put in a sig block, 96
lines would necessarily contain significant spammage. But I don't think that
5, or 10, is excessive, *if* it is intelligent. *Please note* that I am not
condoning 30-line ASCII pictures of Bart Simpson. The sig file I typically
use for this list is 7 lines, containing my name, email, URL, and a funny. It
also contains enough whitespace and linedraw chars to make it readable.
No offense, but Jay, if you had used a longer sig block, including an
address, I *would* have taken this to private email. Agreed, 18 lines is a
lot, but 3 characters isn't a sig, it's punctuation.
