You are missing his point. "Sparring" can be used IN ENGLISH as
a noun because it is the "gerund" form of the verb. Consider the
sentence: "Sparring is my favorite sport." The function of the
word "sparring" there is a noun, unlike its function in the
sentence: "He and his wife are sparring." In THAT example, it is
functioning as a verb. See?
Just because a word can be used both ways IN ENGLISH, that does
not mean it can be used that way in Klingon.
