Perhaps the CK snipet is an example of an imprecise gloss. The actual
question was "What's happening in the room", but the English was
translated to remove reliance on the spatial context?
Okay, it's a stretch, but it could work.

The "away from" case is also called the "ablative" in Basque, so it's
probably fairly standard.
