Yep. Me, newbie, chu'wI'. (Kinda sad, considering that I've been
reading this list for 2.5 years now. :-)

Yep! That's one of the reasons I am here. (Although sometimes differences
in interpretation are caused by use of e-mail instead of spoken language.)
I think, or at least I hope, that others agree. Languages are a wonderful
way to learn many things, including lots of new things about your own
language. My reading of this list has given me many things to think
about in English. For example, one of the things that everyone seems
to stumble across early on in their tlhIngan Hol is idioms. English
is full of idioms, and just translating the words doesn't translate
the meaning. The meaning is _very_ difficult to translate, especially
when you just instinctively know that it is. You have to take the time
to figure out what you want to say, and then phrase it in tlhIngan Hol.
I've learned that one, so I never try to translate anything. ;-)
