Some of this confusion may actually reflect equivocation or at least
variation on what we mean by "teacher". For a really good discussion
of some of the differences between a "preacher" and a "teacher", I
would recommend reading "Conversations With Rabbi Small" by Harry
Kemmelman (Yes, the same author who wrote "Friday the Rabbi Slept
Late" and the rest of the Rabbi Small Mysteries. CWRS is only
marginally fiction however, and not one of the mysteries at all. )
