You didn't get my point. Even in this form, the object is "me," not "animal."
So what's the word for "animal" doing there?
Ha'DIbaH vIQoy vIneH.
I want to hear the animal.
Of course, with context, it's easier. Suppose a Klingon child is at a zoo.
He sees a {chemvaH} (however it's pronounced) and wants to hear it (we know
what it sounds like, more or less!). He shouts, {HIQoymoH!}

Since this is a yes/no question, you need the {-'a'} suffix. {jIlugh'a'}
ghobe'.
