RE: Sign Language?

I have been following this thread with both interest, astonishment and amusement.

Sign language, or any other type of visual codes or hand signals are a vital part of any warrior/military training. While a hearty curse of intent is demanded by honor when confronting one's foes in personal combat, such verbal actions in a covert military action would be disastrous.

It would only be natural that this type of sign language would be used in non-military situations as well. In this fashion, Klingon sign language for the deaf would come into being.

As to the position of the deaf in Klingon society, some comments that they would be killed hardly adhere to a warrior's view on life. To a warrior, how you are born is not what gives you honor, it is what you do with what you were born with that does.

A deaf warrior that proved himself/herself in battle would have no less standing that a hearing warrior.
