Hmm, tonSaw' is a noun? (I wish Okrand had specified these things...)
It still doesn't set right with me. Anyway, this brings up an
intersting question: how and when do we use non-Okrand words in our
tlhIngan Hol? Prior to HolQeD 3:4's printing of Skybox card S15 I
would have simply considered K'Tinga to be a Klingonaase word or some
such, and would have simply placed it in the sentance. Now we know it is merely
a bad translation of qItI'nga('). This puts ALL the non-Okrand words
in question. I like your use of ~ to alert readers of the word's
unofficial status.
What also of words like nIb'poH and jat'yIn (sic) from TNG, they are
both almost correct Hol, but have unnessisary ' in them (these do help
to alert readers to the somewhat strange definitions of these terms,
deja vu and "the taking of the living by the dead" respectively)?
Should we wait for Okrand to take a look at them, or just use them
with a ~ in front?
