Re: young Klingons

Apparently, in the Star Trek world, warp travel does not
have significant relativistic impact. Presumably, if you spent a lot
of time at impulse power in the .9c range, you'd be subject to time dilation,
but at warp speeds, you're not. (Which doesn't conflict with modern physics,
since the only equations we have give us imaginary time for speeds >c, and
we don't know what would happen timewise if there were some way to travel
at those speeds.)

Also, stardates are hazy at best, useless at worst. All you can glean from
them is that bigger numbers are later, and even that breaks down for the
first season of the original series. Even within the confines of TNG, DS9,
and Voyager, 1000 stardates == 1 year while at the same time 1 stardate is
frequently used as one day. See the _Star_Trek_Chronology_ for more info on
the topic.

Back to the subject at hand - we know very little about Klingon aging.
Qolotlh and pals were still around 80+ years after they appeared as adults
in Kirk's time, so they appear to be long-lived; on the other hand, Worf
seems to age at roughly the same speed as humans, judging by his current age
and appearance, and especially by his appearance in the future as seen by
Picard in the final episode of TNG. So the Klingon lifespan is presumably
similar to the Human one , perhaps longer, but if it is longer, the
aging process is not slowed down proportionally. And judging by
Alexander, they mature very quickly right after birth. Hm. How old was
Worf when he underwent the Rite of Ascension? That is presumably some sort
of passing into adulthood . . .
