     Perhaps what peSHIr meant was that it is a fallacy of composition.
The part of the land that is near me is flat therefore all the land of the
Earth is flat.
     Interesting to note that the International Headquarters of the Flat
Earth Society is in Lawrence, Kansas.  {{:-)
     The distances in any case need not be so massive; Terrans figured it
out thousands of years ago watching ships coming into and going out of port.
