It's dangerous to extrapolate from only one example.  We have no definition
of a {-la'} suffix for verbs; we can only guess.  And when it comes to
neologisms, we're not "allowed" to guess - at least, in the philosophy toward
the language used by most members of this list and the KLI.  We prefer to
work within the confines of what we have, rather than hunt for ways to
give ourselves more to work with.

No, Picard generally did a better job than that on Qapla'.  In the scene to
which you're referring, I believe what he said was more like "kuhtlaw"; the
intended word was {qatlho'}, "Thank you."
