If I had to guess, I'd bet Klingons have a separate name for their own sun,
one that's not in TKD for some reason.
This is one case in which comparing Klingon to other Terran languages might
not work too well. Terrans all think of the moon as THE moon, and we just say
"moon of Mars/Jupiter/Saturn" if we're refering to another moon.
The sun is just THE sun. Another sun is "the sun of Rihannsu/
Vulcan/Melmac/etc." "Star" is a term for that little point of light observed
in the sky only at night.
Future languages will probably handle astronomical objects differently, but
it's hard to say where it'll all lead. In coming centuries, the sun will
probably develop its own name, like "Sol" or something.
Anyways, some possible words connected with the idea of {Hov}:
{jajlo'} = "dawn"
{Hovwoj} = "solar radiation"
