Another point about renaming DOS things to Klingon words: If you rename
the transient DOS commands, realize that some of them will cease working
properly because, for example, the FORMAT command calls up CHKDSK and SYS by
name, so if you rename CHKDSK.EXE and SYS.COM, the FORMAT command will return
error messages at those stages of its operation. Similarly, EDIT.EXE needs
BASIC to be functional and in the PATH.
ALIASes don't have these problems because they leave the DOS files alone
while making the translation BEFORE calling the files. They also do not have
the batch file problems already described to this list. Face it. You can set
up ALIASes with 4DOS, NDOS or DOSKEY, or you would be better off forgetting
this idea altogether.
