I admire your courage, btw. The speech you are currently translating is,
many have said, the most boring in all Shakespeare. The audience at the
time might not have thought so, because they welcomed justification for
Henry's claim; but the Salic speech just goes on and on and on, and apparently
if it's done in performance, they take the piss out of [make fun of]
Cantabury no end.
What text are you translating from? Most editions of Shakespeare have
helpful annotations.
