I don't know the source of {ba'lu'} offhand, but I'm curious as to why you
think -lu' on an intransitive verb is so surprising.  {ba'lu'} would be
translated as "one sits", possibly in a set of instructions for how to conduct
oneself in one of those rare situations where Klingons care about protocol . . .

Just because {-lu'} is often translated with the English passive voice, do not
be fooled into thinking that it constitutes a passive voice in Klingon.  All
it means is that the subject of the verb is unspecified.
