Hm. {joSchuq} qaq law' {joS} qaq puS 'e' vISIv.

While I appreciate that joS is a to-each-other sort of activity, I think that the nature of gossip is included in the verb, so there'd have to be an extra to-each-other sense for me to want -chuq. They aren't gossipping about each other, and in this case the aren't even gossipping to each other, they're gossipping to an alien merchant, so I think I'll keep it without the -chuq.

I'm not saying the usage is wrong, but to me 'op Sung would be better
than Sung puS here. Sung puS seems a bit like a calque (presumably "a
few natives"?), and in the Klingon it sounds like the emphasis is on
there having been *only* a few (so puS as opposed to law', rather than
puS as opposed to pagh).

I never translated it, although maybe I should as I'm catching a few things as I translate passages for an interested friend. I think the puS choice reflects the fact that I learned Klingon well before 'op existed, so it used to play that role. vIchoHta'.

luDuDulu'DI' - that's fun to type.

If it were me I'd say Qenvob wa'maH cheb'a', but I'm not sure if I
really find wa'maH cheb'a' Qenvob objectionable. I don't know why.

I'm hoping to collect a few opinions on this one.

Maybe wa'maH cheb'a' ngI'bogh Qenvob might be better.

I think I used that later for emphasis.
