Actually, {naytlhan} doesn't sound much like "Nathan" - at least not the way
I've usually heard "Nathan" pronounced; it might be close to the Australian
prounciation. In very rough English equivalence, {naytlhan} sounds like
"night-lawn", because the Klingon combination {ay} = "ah-ee" sounds like a
long "i" in English (as in the word "I"). To get the long "a" sound (as in
"name"), you would write {ey} in Klingon.
As has been mentioned in this thread already, most folks here avoid trying
to translate names; when names look like words it's hard to tell that
they're supposed to be names, especially when one can't use capitalization
to distinguish. But if you're looking for a translation of "God", you
should check out the books of the Bible as translated by the KBTP. The word
used there varies with the original language, but a frequent choice is
{joH'a'} "great lord".
