Re: Suggestions for class on Klingon?

SajatlhneS:

: I've been asked (well, I volunteered) to do a
: class on Klingon for my daughter's elementary school.
: It is longer than I'd like 5-6 weeks, one hour a week
: (I'd thought it might be a one or two week shot).

Joel... by the sound of your post, it sounds like you are already
jumping into how your going to teach your class...

As an instructional designer, I encourage you to first think
of how best the student learns. This includes the answers to:
What in the instructional gap (the gap is the distance between
what they know and what they should know)? What instructional
objectives are necessary to close the gap? How will I test
if they've achived the instructional objectives? THEN, how will
I best teach to those objectives?

These questions are LEARNER-centered teaching... I encourage everyone
instructing to think of the learner first and foremost.

If you or anyone else would like to talk about this, I would like to
take this off-line. I'm more that willing to help, suggest or suppliment
any instruction... ESPECIALLY instruction in tlhIngan Hol!

Qapla'!
