Could be; I know it's also a Jewish custom, not to leave the body alone
before burial (I remember doing my part once for a few hours when the Rabbi
Emeritus of my synagogue died).  I don't think predators are the (stated)
fear though.

Anyway, it's more Paramountisms to me; I'm not going to stress about
"*'aqmar" or whatever any more than I do about the other gibberish they
inflict on Klingon, or doubletalk they inflict on physics (and it's a good
point that in TKD we hear that they don't have much regard for the body of
the dead.  Go figure what's in a writer's head.  Then again, it COULD be
that *gasp* maybe Klingon culture isn't monolithic.  Nah.)
