Good point.  Let me make three suggestions:

1)  Do what you can to check the accuracy of warnings *before*
passing them on.  Check with knowledgable friends, or recognized
sources of accurate information.

2)  If you find you are wrong, be sure to pass the *corrected* 
information back to the place from which you got the warning, and 
pass it on to those to whom you forwarded the warning.

3)  Don't "flame" people for an innocent mistake.  None of us were 
born with an ethernet adapter in our navels.  We *all* had to learn.
