I don't know if either works really well.  You're pretty much on your own.
Qav isn't all that bad.

poQ would do nicely here: jabbI'IDvam vIqonDI', req poQ Qu'.  (note "qon"
instead of "ghItlh"; Okrand says that "ghItlh" is the act of physically
writing, while "qon" is used for composing or creating.  There is room to
argue that this refers only to music, though).  lo' seems unnecessarily
vague.
