KLI in print

The July/August 1995 issue of SKEPTICAL INQUIRER has a nice article on
artificial languages written by Martin Gardner. I particularly like it because
he spends quite a bit of space talking about Klingon, the KLI, and even gives
our address. He also goes on to list some very obscure attempts at artificial
languages. All in all, a nice article.

Also recently found was a book from Random House Electronic Publishing entitled,
NET TREK: YOUR GUIDE TO TREK LIFE IN CYBERSPACE. A little under 400 pages, $19.
Although some of the information in the book is dated, there is quite a bit of
Klingon material, and repeated references to the KLI, our ftp site, and our web
site. In particular they reproduce the opening graphic from the web site (Mark,
you should be proud!). The KLI web site is also listed among their "biggest,
smartest, and snazziest Trek stops in Cyberspace."

Many thanks to both Mark Shoulson and Jay Grizzard for making and maintaining
our place on the Internet. Doubtless books like this one will continue to draw
in new Klingonists from around the globe.

I've gotten several letters from people lately who implied they read about the
KLI in a recent issue of Time Magazine. I don't read Time, but I'm hoping some
of you do. Were we in it, or am I mistaken? If we were, what issue (and do you
still have your copy)?

Lawrence
