We need to have a new BG so I don't get hit by seizures every
time I see an unanswered post like this. Meanwhile, my habit
strikes again.
Geez. I'm devolved to apologizing for posting responses again.

The following comments address this as prose. If it is being
presented as poetry with meter considerations, then I tend to
want to discourage that when one has not really mastered prose
yet.
According to toDbaj, AberdeenDaq tlhIngan:

While this is true to the words of the original, the meaning of
the conjunction would probably be carried better by 'ach than
'ej. See? That they have meat is contrasted to their inability
to eat. My personal spin on this would come out more like:
Ha'DIbaH lughajtaH nuvpu' law' 'ach SoplaHbe' chaH,
> 'ej Ha'DIbaH lughajchuch vay' SoplaH;
This one misses the mark of conveying the original meaning.
'ej SoplaH latlhpu' law' 'ach Ha'DIbaH ghajbe' chaH,
> 'ach Ha'DIbaH wIghaj 'ej maSoplaH
maj.

This kinda works. You are saying that "we" say "I" thank you,
which is a little strange. And if we say we thank, isn't that
the same thing as simply thanking?
vaj joH'a' wItlho'.
Then again, the original seems even more indirect, like:
'ej joH'a' tlho'lu' wIjatlh.
