The concept

> cannot be completely unknown, after all Cuzon Dax was an (unofficial?)
> ambassador to the Empire. And as Jadzia pointed out, "They go all the
> way down."

I'm with Voragh - Degh seems more of a manufactured thing to me (the only examples I know of are to designed emblems: tlhIngan wo' Degh, tuq Degh), and if I
heard it used in reference to skin I'd think of tattoos well before freckles.

I'd be tempted to do something with Sar "be varied, be various": nguv DIrwIj 'ej Sar, perhaps. Leaving aside vitiligo and the weird-ass stuff that happened to Mahoun in nuq bop bom, I think freckles are the only common form of variegated pigmentation one might expect to find on (human) skin. Otherwise, ghoHommey Hurgh might work. (As opposed to Hurgh ghoHommey, which belong on a hamburger.)

QeS
