</div>I've wondered whether this should have been *{nungwI'} from {nung} "preceed". But once published it was established and Okrand eventually used {nubwI'} in the paq'batlh:<br>

I think they're essentially synonyms. But now it's ambiguous when we say {nubwI'} whether we mean something that is suspect or a predecessor.<br clear="all">
