KGT 50: An individual crew member is a {beq}.

KGT 53: Among the troops ({QaS}), the highest-ranking are given the title {bu'}, traditionally translated as "sergeant", while the next highest have the title {Da'} (corporal). No specific titles are used for anyone of lower rank.

However, Alexander reported to the Rotarran's first officer Worf by stating, "Bekk Alexander Rozhenko, reporting as ordered." (DS9 "Sons and Daughters")

KRAD:DI: "*bekk*. A rank given to enlisted personnel in the Defense Force."

{beq} may not be a military rank in the strict sense, but a title or description: "crewman". It's possible that Alexander wasn't an official member of the {tlhIngan Hubbeq}, but signed on as a civilian. We've seen civilians serve aboard Klingon ships -- IIRC Martok's yeoman was an elderly male civilian in some DS9 episode. (Civilians - most often scientific mission specialists - also serve aboard Starfleet vessels and they sometimes wear what appear to be regular uniforms, but without any rank insignia whatsoever.)
