<div>This isn&#39;t quite a new use of a known verb, but {QaD} is used in the sense of &quot;be safe, be protected&quot; in the text.  It jumped out at me since it&#39;s supposed to be &quot;slang&quot;, so I had a hard time seeing either Kahless or Molor using it; or, if we go along with the story that the text is a modern translation of an ancient work, I found it difficult to believe that a serious academic translator would use a slang term. </div>
