Never used in canon.

Related nouns:

I assume both {pob} and {jIb} et al. are mass nouns.  For a single strand 
of hair {SIrgh} "string, thread, filament" might work.

Cf. also {veD} "fur" and {veDDIr} "pelt (skin with fur still attached)".
