qeslagh qatlhpu':
" what is the connection between "be", the classic maya word for 'road', and
klingon?"

Do you mean besides it's inclusion in the phrase 'ochbe' for the ancient Mayan
"pathway to the afterlife" ? [sic]

To answer your question:
Perhaps it is due to the impassability of the roads in question.

Most of the Mayan ruins recently discovered date back over a thousand years
before what we commonly associate with the 'Mayan' culture. In fact this earlier
civilization exists only in the same geographical location, and has little to do
with classic Mayan culture. As yet it's undifferentiated from the Mayan, so far.
Other than a common Calendar & location there is little evidence left to associate
the two.

The newest discoveries are only new in that they were found by sattelite
observations 1st, because these roadways are so bad.

In the meantime, the roads in question run through either clay lined swamps,
or tropical rainforests; neither of which support paved roads. One can successfully
argue that these are roads which are impassable as pathways.

Could it be a certain Linguist with a penchant for Meso-American oboriginal
cultures? Or just a thorough search for clues by our most astute lingual detective.

The Rainforests of prehistoric Belize sound like good hunting ground for
warriors. Lots of jaguar and other jungle beasts. Perhaps the earliest bloody
rituals of the proto-Mayan culture are in fact tribute to early Klingon explorers.

Only Temporal Agents know for sure, and they're not telling.
