The word "toast" itself doesn't mention drinking. I don't drink; to me "toast"
is a piece of bread held in high heat for a while.
You could say any word, "blah blah" and when you hold up a glass and then
proceed to tell everyone what a great person somebody is, they're going to
understand what's going on.
Those suggestions above, on their own, could be translated several ways. But
if you said either of those phrases and then held up a glass and gave a little
speech, most people would understand.
