Subject: Star Trek Cinema Movies

Hi!

I am trying to translate the titles of the Star Trek Cinema Movies into
Klingon, but with some of them I have some problems... Perhaps you can help
me.

So how would you translate the following titles:
The motion picture (Star Trek 1)

This is not official usage, but on this list, "movies" are sometimes called
{lut'a'} (as opposed to {lutHom} "episode")
{Hov leng lut'a' wa'DIch} "The First Star Trek Movie" is my suggestion.

First Contact (Star Trek 8)

This is a toughy... apparently, Klingon works are often titled with a
sentence, or a verb phrase:
{ghobchuq loDnI'pu'}"The Brothers Fight Each Other" (KCD), a statue found in
many Klingon homes,
and
{jabmeH} "In Order to Serve" (KGT) a Klingon cookbook.

So you could approach it this way.
My stab at it:
{tera' qIHlu'} "The Earth is Introduced"

Nemesis (Star Trek 10)

one meaning of "nemesis" is "An opponent that cannot be beaten or
overcome.", and it is this meaning that I get from the title.

http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=Nemesis

So you could try: {jagh'a'} or {jagh nIvqu'} "Great Enemy" or "Very Superior
Enemy"

I avoid the whole "cannot be beaten or overcome.", as that would add
considerable bulk to the title, and reduce it's "punch".
