how irrelevant can you get? did klingon need "hamlet"? no. does any
language need a particular work or vocabulary? no. but people might want to
translate or create certain works.
comparing need (or usefulness) in one language to that in another is also
pointless. millions of people use swahili in their daily lives; comparing
klingon to swahili in this way is ridiculous. if people always chose their
language of study by its usefulness, klingon would never have got off the
ground.
need is irrelevant here.
