Subject: Announcement: New Beginner's Grammarian

The Beginner's Grammarian position is a rotating post, where a skilled
speaker of the language assists newcomers to the list and the language with
improving their skills, without spinning off comlex grammatical discussions
or a flood of responses from multiple list participants.

And so it is time for this post to rotate. The current, out-going BG is
taD, who has served with distinction. taD has served as BG, if my memory
serves, for over a year now, since just after the qep'a' SochDIch. A year
is a long time (though pagh holds the record for the longest BG stint at
over 2 years, and I probably hold the record for the shortest at 3 months).

taD will continue to work with list members who are currently engaged in
discussions with him on KLBC threads, until these threads end. All new
threads will be taken up by the new BG. taD will (one hopes) continue to
participate on the list, just not as the BG.

taD, you are now, officially, an {'utlh}. (Holtej prods taD with a
painstick.)

The new Beginner's Grammarian, effective immediately, is DloraH. DloraH has
been a long-time participant on this list, and has shown an excellent
command of the language. DloraH has consistently treated other list members
with respect and patience. He is also, most impressively, one of the few
people to have published a work in Klingon. His Gilgamesh translation is an
extremely well-done work, and I urge anyone who has not yet read it to go
and get a copy. (I had never read Gilgamesh before; the Klingon version was
my first exposure to this ancient text.) His love of the language and
contribution to this list will no doubt serve him well as he serves this
community as Beginner's Grammarian.

On a final note, as we witness an honorable succession: the Beginner's
Grammrian post is not only a way to help beginners to the Klingon language
and this forum improve their skills; it is also a way to help the BG improve
his/her own command of the language. I would take this opportunity to
encourage all of you out there who might rise to the challenge, to consider
that a tour of duty as the BG might be in your future. Study! Practice!
And when DloraH seeks out his honorable successor, it could be you.

Thanks and accolades to taD, and congratulations to DloraH!
