Note the verb prefixes here:
{vI-} "I (do something to) him/her/it/them"
{jI-} "I (do something, no object)"
Since you said {jISov...} instead of {vISov...}, then you're talking about
knowing stuff in general.
If you're talking about knowing something specific (such as a piece of
information or a fact), then you could say {vISovbe'chugh...} "If I do not
know it...".
