jevmo' chunDabmey yIghuH - is telling you to be alerted to the OBJECTS.
jev chunDabmey 'e' yIghuH - is telling you to be alerted to the ACTION.
{jev chunDabmey 'e' yIghuH} vImaS.

I read this as the father's family lived in one city, but he (the father)
lived in another and one of his sisters worked there.

You are kind of right. The place returned to is the direct object of chegh,
so -Daq isn't needed (you can have it on there, but why). But we need the
proper prefix; in this case bo-. (MO, Startrek news group, Jul 1999).

jon? chay' {jon} Dalo'?

Yes, this one works nicely.

muv is what we would refer to in english as transitive. On TKD p183,
muvmoH - recruit (v), you can see this is actually "cause to join"; so the
original is correct. (you could add -moH to your version)

I read this as "Can I challenge only the evil ones".
neH is also an adverbial "only, merely, just"; it follows the noun or verb
that it modifies. This is covered in TKD p56,57
