Extended Corpus Project

The Extended Corpus Project (ECP) is an open-ended effort to compile a list
of all noncanonical Klingon from printed sources. One obvious example is
Ford's klinonaase, but many other authors have scattered what they intended
as Klingon words and names throughout there fiction. T

To date, the volunteers of the ECP have poured over some 74 of the 336 Star
Trek novels published by Pocket Books, as well as numerous books from other
sources. More than two thirds of these items have yielded noncanonical
Klingon examples.

The current coordinator of the project is William Longton. Under his
stewardship of the last 17 months the online list of this extended corpus
has grown to 769 separate entries. But the work is far from over and
additional volunteers are needed to read through designated material and
carefully document noncanonical Klingon. If you've got the time and
inclination to read a book, you can be part of the ECP. Contact the
coordinator at [email protected] or visit
/stuff/ECP.html to learn more.
