This is fine. Note that the Klingon actually says "an enemy's *blood*", not
"an enemy's blade".

This saying suggests that because inanimate things/things don't fight back,
they aren't a real challenge. Similarly, your proverb suggests that only
fighting a real, living enemy improves a sword.
