taD:
: For this second meaning of "like", we can use the verb {rur}
: ("resemble"). For example:
: {tar rur Sojvam} "This food is like poison!" or literally
: "This food resembles poison."
FYI, {rur} is also used in forming similes, many of which have become common
cliches. E.g.:
bIr; bortaS rur
cold as revenge
(lit. "it is cold; it resembles revenge")
puj; bIQ rur
weak as water
HoS; 'Iw rur
strong as blood
There is a long list of these "Klingon for the Galactic Traveller", p. 127ff.
