Learning tlhIngan Hol, Was Teaching Klingon
Some advice T'Flar is patience, listen/watch, never give up, and get the
items Qov wrote about if you have not yet. Learning any language takes time
and practice. tlhIngan Hol will be my first "foreign" language so I know
how you feel. Get the items Qov 'utlh mentions. They will help
tremendously. The tapes will give you the actual sound of what the language
is like. Then from there once you have the TKD start doing vocab practice
by taking 10 words a day and memorizing, or do what some on this list have
done, compile your own vocabulary/dictionary so it includes all the new
words the TKD does not have. Only self discipline and patience will get you
to where you want to be. Nothing beats just doing it. Writing and
practicing. Start small and work up to more complex stuff as you become
more familiar with it. You will get great
feedback from this list.
