RE: KLBC -- Klingon word for "redemption"?

jatlh Brian:

You are asking the right question. Words for abstract concepts like
"redemption" and "love" and "honor" are especially difficult since they rely
so much on cultural context. Tell us exactly what you mean, and maybe we can
help. Give us a context and it becomes much easier. Here are some sentences
that relate to the general idea (from a Klingon point of view, anyway) :

qorDu'wIj webmoH vavwI' loDnI', 'ach Qotmagh che'ronDaq jagh mIgh vIjeyDI'
quvmaj vISuqqa'.

Qapchu'be' DeghwI' chu', 'ach chaq nISwI' chu' lujomlu'DI' toDujDaj
tob'qa'laH.

ramchu' yInwIj, 'ach jIHeghDI' DujwIj vItoDchu'mo', batlh vIqawlu'.

One of the best things about learning a foreign language - any foreign
language - is that it challenges your view of the world. You have to think
about every word that you say, and you often realize that it might not mean
quite what you thought it did. For this purpose, the more foreign the
language the better, and Klingon is in many ways about as foreign as you can
get.
