Apparently, anyone visiting Space Station K-7 -- with the prominent
exception of Captain Kirk -- recognized quadrotriticale as *not* being
wheat. :)
Wheat is a grain in the genus Triticum. Rye is a grain in the genus
Secale. There is a 20th Century real-world hybrid of the two, known as
triticale, found in Canada. In the 23rd Century word of Star Trek,
quadrotriticale is a four-lobed rehybridization of that parent grain.
